Catholic Funerals at Sacred Heart Catholic Church
 Sometimes, we are asked to plan events in our lives which may need assistance
from another person or source. The
Funeral Booklet is
provided to assist with the planning of a wedding or a funeral which would be
celebrated at Sacred Heart Church. In the face of
death, the Church confidently proclaims that God has created each person for
eternal life and that Jesus, the Son of God, by his death and resurrection, has
broken the chains of sin and death that bound humanity.
Christians celebrate the funeral rites to offer worship, praise, and
thanksgiving to God for the gift of a life which has now been returned to God,
the author of life and the hope of the just. The Mass, the memorial of Christ’s
death and resurrection, is the principal celebration of the Christian funeral.
We here at Sacred Heart Church grieve with you and wish to pray with you for
your loved one. We want the celebration of your loved one’s life to be
personalized by you. To this end we have established
this booklet with
choices you can make regarding symbols, scriptural readings, and music to best
express your love and prayers.
You are welcome to make as many choices as you wish for the funeral. Just
present your choices on the back page and leave this off at the church the day
before the funeral or if you have a fax, you may fax it to the Church at (727)
